Getting to know @skincredibles

Posted by Alison Chu on

In this blog, we get to know a little bit more about 23 year old skincare junkie, Klaudia (aka @skincredibles). Klaudia is from Poland and she studies Management and Work in the food industry corporation. She loves to sing and she is obsessed with Japanese culture and hopes to visit Japan someday.

When did you start your IG skincare page and why?
I started my IG page in August 2018 and my reason was that I just wanted to share my skincare passion with others. I thought that Instagram would be a great place to share my experience and opinions but also to learn from others and get to know some nice people with the same skincare addiction.

Tell us about what got you into K-Beauty
I got interested in K-Beauty after I read Charlotte Cho's Little Book Of Skincare. I started to carry out my own research on K-Beauty products and realised that many interesting ingredients or innovative solutions are not being used by western skincare brands. At first, it was just a curiosity but I quickly
noticed that many K-beauty products simply worked better for my skin.

For those new to K-Beauty, the whole ‘10 Step Routine’ may seem slightly over the top and daunting. What advice would you give to newbies?
Listen to your skin! Don't go buying all the products that others recommend -  especially when you're just starting your own routine. 10 Step Routine may seem cool, but for some it can be too much and cause more harm to the skin than good. Just start with basics, 3 or 4 steps: cleansing, toning, moisturising and sunscreen in the morning. Then see how your skin reacts and you may either stop at that or try to add more steps if needed (e.g. serum, ampoule and masks). Every skin is different, so the key is to find your optimal skincare routine with as many steps as your skin needs.

What’s your favourite Korean skincare brand(s) and why?
It's hard to choose one, but I think Cosrx is the brand which almost every product I've tried so far has worked for me. Besides that, I like Benton (especially their sheet masks), A'pieu (their Madecassoside line is A GEM!!) and recently I've been liking some products from Make P:rem. I have very moody skin, so I pay attention especially to the ingredient lists.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three K-Beauty products would you take with you?
1. Purito Green Level Safe Sun
2. A'pieu Madecassoside Cream
3. Make P:rem Safe Me. Relief Cleansing Foam

Describe your skincare collection in three words
Large, precious and focused

Finally, what’s the best skincare advice you have ever received?
Oily skin also needs hydrating and moisturising! Oily skin can still be dehydrated and this is often the reason of excess sebum production. Don't skip the moisturiser when you have oily skin - just find the RIGHT one.
