Jess' Skincare Routine

Posted by Alison Chu on

In this blog, we thought it would be nice to let you know what Jess’ morning and evening skincare routines are.  We’d love to hear your comments and/or recommendations as we’re always looking to try new things!

10 steps may seem like a lot but it is quite easy once you get into the swing of it. Admittedly, when I first started doing the full 10 Step Skincare Routine it took me some time to get used to the order of applying the products. However it has become second nature to me and I actually really look forward to it, especially at night as I find it really relaxing! My AM and PM routine varies from week to week (and certainly from season to season) as I like to mix it up to target different skin concerns. Below is one of my typical AM and PM routines which I would like to share with you.

AM Routine

I like to keep my AM routine short as I love my sleep too much and every minute in bed counts! I will start off by doing a water cleanse with Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser with Thyme followed by toning with PIXI Glow Tonic before I apply an essence. My favourite essence is Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence. It absorbs so easily into my skin and creates a perfect base for the rest of my routine. It is often compared to the cult favourite SK-II Facial Treatment Essence however I prefer Missha as it is more affordable and does not have a strong scent to it like SK-II.
One of the first serums I ever purchased was Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum and I still love it now! The green tea scent is so refreshing and is exactly what I need for a quick AM serum. Finally, I will finish off with LUSH Vanishing Cream moisturiser before starting on my make-up. My make-up contains SPF (however probably not as much as it should) and I am guilty of skipping the SPF step... This is something I’m working on and my aim is to incorporate more SPF into my future AM routine.

PM Routine

My PM routine is a bit more extensive however I love a bit of skincare TLC after a long day at work. I will start off with a double cleanse using Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm as my oil cleanse and COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Cleanser as my water cleanse. The double cleanse method is probably one of my favourite steps. I love how clean my skin feels and I dread to think how much make-up and dirt I left behind on my skin before I discovered the double cleanse method. I will tone with PIXI Glow Tonic before moving onto an essence. For my PM routine, I like to use Pyungkang Yul Essence Toner. It has a slightly thicker consistency than most essences and a few drops go a long way. It always leaves my skin super hydrated and soft especially if I do the 7 Skin Method with it.
For my PM serums and treatments, I will usually use The Ordinary Salicylic Acid on my blemishes and then apply Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule to the rest of my face. This is an anti-aging serum which, like my other favourite Missha product, is often compared to the cult favourite Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum however again at a fraction of the price.
My go to sheetmasks are usually Etude House 0.2mmTherapy Air Mask as these are so affordable and therefore a great choice if you like to sheet mask frequently. Finally, I will finish off with Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream which is formulaed with 80% snail mucin and Leegeehaam Hope 5 Alpha Control Cream for my face which helps balance out oil production whilst tackling my blemishes.
