Review of Jumiso Yes, I Am Toner AHA 5%
Summary: I’ve been testing the Jumiso Yes, I Am Toner AHA 5% for just over four weeks. I tend to gravitate towards hydrating toners due to my dehydrated skin however I also suffer from blemishes and I'm therefore always on the lookout for a good exfoliating product. I was excited to try this product as it's something a bit different to my usual toners!
Skin Type: My skin type is dehydrated and blemish prone. I tend to look for products with ingredients that are gentle and soothing as well as hydrating. I suffer from really dehydrated skin so hydration is key for me!
Packaging: This 125ml product is contained in a sturdy plastic bottle and comes in a cardboard box with Jumiso's cute signature characters. When brand new, the product is sealed with a foil lid as well as with a plastic screw top.
Glycolic Acid – this product is formulated with 3.2% glycolic acid which helps remove dead skin cells on the surface and promote cellular renewal. The ingredient is used to treat acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and signs of aging.
Lactic Acid – this product is formulated with 1.8% lactic acid which, like glycolic acid, helps remove dead skin cells on the surface and promote cellular renewal. The ingredient is used to treat hyperpigmentation and age spots as well as increase water retention by increasing ceramides in the skin's protective barrier.
Houttuynia Cordata Extract – this is a flowering plant native to South East Asia. It is said to be anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant.
Consistency and Scent:
The toner is a thin and runny consistency. I usually apply my toners by patting the product into my face with my hands. However due to how thin the consistency of this toner is, I decided to dispense the toner onto a cotton pad and applied it that way instead.
There is a slight citrus scent to the toner however I found this to be subtle and it did not bother me.
I've been using this product every other night for a period of just over four weeks. Personally I did not experience any noticeable differences to my skin however I also did not experience any adverse effects. I found this toner to be gentle and did not irritate my skin or cause any unexpected breakouts. I think this toner would be a good option for those new to chemical exfoliation or those looking for a gentle exfoliating product.
Overall Rating: I would rate this product 3 out of 5 stars
